String Quartet No. 14 in D minor “Death and the Maiden” [complete] - Franz Schubert arr. Gustav Mahler (String Ensemble)

One of my favourite String Quartets (this version arranged for an ensemble by Mahler). The beginning is just so strong and powerful - full of force. No sufficient words can describe, just listen!

I don’t care if you have no theological affiliation. This song is simply a thing of beauty.

Schubert- Ave Maria: Sung by Luciano Pavarotti

The Pav is gold. When people think “Ave Maria”, this is the version and composition they’re actually thinking of.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this epicness before.

Goethe = my best imaginary friend. Hands-down.

Doing a report on Schubert right now, composer of moving and kick-butt lieder (germanic art songs from the romantic period) like this one… words by the Poet Goethe, who was only like. My favorite poet in highschool.
